Monday Weigh In- Week 6 complete

Oh Lordy what a week this had been. My body hurts in the most amazing way! I am getting so much closer to my ultimate goal and let me tell you, it feels so freaking amazing! Here's my stats this week.

Week 5:                         Week 6:
Weight= 202lbs            Weight= 199lbs
Chest= 41.5"                Chest= 41"
R Arm= 13"                  R Arm= 14"
L Arm = 13"                  L Arm= 13.5"
Waist= 42.5"                 Waist= 42"
Hips= 43.5"                   Hips= 43"
R Thigh= 26.5"              R Thigh=26.5"
L Thigh= 26.5"               L Thigh=26.5"

I will never be 200lbs ever again! It feels so incredible! 21 lbs gone only 29 more to go! Holy shit that is so amazing!

I can't say this enough, but I am so glad I bought JNL Fusion cause it is the most fun workout that I have done since boot camp! (Even better cause I don't have to deal with other people pulling me down) The one thing I have learned is that relying on people to get you fit is all WRONG! That, I believe, was my biggest hurdle to jump, and now I don't rely on anyone but ME! ME ME ME... Yes that may sound selfish, or arrogant, but let me say this... I have to live in this body, I have to know what I'm thinking all the time, I have to make sure I am taken care of cause if I fail, everything else fails with me. So yes right now I am selfish with my body and mind, but I am happy and I believe the people around me are much happier to be around me also. Here's a goal, if you make plans with someone to go to the gym, or on a hike, or whatever it may be, and they cancel... Just GO! Why should you fall to their level of unhappy? I learned this the hard way! And really when you go to the gym, do u actually talk to this partner of yours? Not usually! So there, there is no excuse now.

Speaking of hiking... My mom and I love it and I wanted to share just a couple pictures of the trail we went on up the coast yesterday. The trail we took is called Cummins Creek Loop and was about 7 miles and I burned over 1100 calories. Absolutely beautiful up there and a gorgeous day at the beach.

So someone asked me the other day, "What diet are you doing?" Ummmm, diet? I absolutely HATE fad diets! I believe it's a lazy way to lose weight fast and then gain it all right back. I might get a lot of people pissed off at me right now, but I just want you all to remember this is MY opinion and everyone is entitled to their own... Right? I don't believe in cutting out all your carbs, in don't believe in drops that make you only eat 500 calories a day and never able to work out, (Seriously?!) and I sure in the hell dont believe in fasting or only drinking this one drink to "cleanse" yourself. I believe in the natural way of cleansing, its called fiber. The more veggies you eat will definately cleanse your body, along with a nice sweaty workout! Remember when we were kids in school and learning about the food pyramid? There is a reason our society has gotten obese now a days, because no one ever follows that anymore. I believe a well rounded diet and counting calorie intake and exercise is the best thing for our bodies. Good carbs, like whole wheat, and lean meats is what I'm doing. Lots of veggies and no sugar, other than natural sugars already in foods, and believe it or not some good fats, like avocado and almonds. HELLO... Easy! Why did I think this was so hard for so long? It's really not! Listen, if you buy shit, you will eat like shit. No brainer! So now I mainly shop on the outside perimeter of the grocery stores. I call my "diet" the "ME" diet. So next time you get asked what kind of diet your doing... Just tell them "I'm doing the Me diet". Haha I love it!

Fitness Friday- Squat Challenge Results

So some of you knew that I was doing a 30 day squat challenge... Well I finally completed the challenge and have my before and after. Still have a ways to go but holy cow there is a major difference. (Excuse my photography skills. My husband was sleeping and just decided to take them on my own.) I love SEEING my body transform! I really encourage people to take photos of them selves, although it may be gross or embarrassing at first, it is an amazing motivater and when you do start feeling discouraged you can take another photo to help you see that you really have transformed. Remember, the scale is only a small indicator of your success! How you feel, and how your clothes fit is the most important. Here is the challenge I did in case you want to do your own squat challenge!  Enjoy! I know I did. I even may do it again! -Ash

1 Year of Hard Work = The Real Me Reborn

One year ago today marked the first day of finding me again. One year ago I was depressed, miserable, lazy, unhappy, overweight, and lonely. One year ago today, I weighed 220lbs. I can't even begin to tell you how much of me has changed physically and emotionally. When I decided to take this life long journey to be fit and happy, I never in a million years would have thought this would be fun and exciting. Most people may think I am crazy, and I would say they are very correct! I am crazy about having energy again, crazy for being able to feel good in my clothes again, crazy that I can now run, walk, lift, hike, or any other activity WITHOUT hurting. Yep, I would say I am crazy  if that is what crazy is to the average person. Throughout this last year I have accomplished so many goals! I have never made a huge goal and accomplished it until this journey. I lost 50 pounds within the first 4 months and have kept it off, plus have lost even more. Crazy what you can accomplish wh
